| For some reason people are confusing this phenolic material with wood - maybe it's because it looks like it has a wood grain on its edges, I don't know. This particular phenolic is resin impregnated canvas - the canvas is what gives it the wood grain appearance. I chose this material primarily for it's thermal insulating properties to reduce the amount of heat conducted into the fuel rails (similar to the plastic isolators that stock fuel rails use). If the natural look of the phenolic resin board isn't appealing, it can be sanded and painted.
